A Java architect / team is lead is sought by this tier one investment bank to lead a team of 7 – 10 Java and Cobol developers and build a suite of treasury and finance systems in for use across the global bank.
This role is own and run their suite of treasury, running a team and delivering upon their 2012 delivery targets, with responsibility for design and architecture. This is a global team across in Europe, North America, and Asia.
MANAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS
- All aspects of strategic team development and man-management including, but not limited to, internal talent development, succession planning and individual career progression.
- Resource allocation for projects.
- Project planning – identifying, scoping, prioritizing, tracking and reporting deliverables and milestones.
- Working with Project managers and Development Managers in multiple locations to devise and implement ongoing strategic improvements to Development and QA processes.
BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS
- Managing risk and issues.
- Good Treasury (Foreign Exchange, Money Markets) business knowledge
- International Payments
- Experience of working on global applications
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Java
- Tandem COBOL (Enform, TACL and TAL are beneficial)
- The Atlas suite (Tansaction Masks Outgoing Formatter, Generic Router, XIS/GIS are beneficial)
- SWIFT messaging would also be beneficial although is not a prerequisite
