Java / C++ Developer – Prop Trading – Sydney recruitment
Our client is a leading global trading firm that has offices in multiple locations globally and a reputation for innovative use of cutting edge technologies to capture financial markets opportunities. They have a highly desirable dynamic team culture that supports collaboration, innovation and technical excellence in a dress down highly welcoming arena. They have been growing their Sydney operations with exceptional retention rates over the last few years and now, due to consistent growth they are looking for a talented Java/C++ Software Engineer to join their Core Sydney Team.
This is the opportunity to work on the underlying systems that the firm uses in all of its global locations. This is a team with members in every office location in the world that combine to utilise best practice development techniques, design patterns and start of the art architecture to evolve the companies software capabilities. The projects they work on are longer term strategic initiatives that have a truly global impact but realised on both a regional and local level.
The role itself is to produce highly scalable, high quality robust solutions which meet the needs of the local environment whilst conforming with Global standards. You will work in a small local team that gives emphasis for the Sydney based projects that are raised at a global level.
Requirements of the role:
- Extensive Java /C++Development Programming Skills – with an innovative yet simplistic approach.
- Sound software design skills, knowledge of Object Orientated Methodologies and use of Design patterns.
- Strong understanding of the SDLC in highly complex environments
- Good working knowledge of SQL
- Passion for software excellence with a focus on re-useability
- Software prototyping skills
- Ability to work in Regional / Global teams
- Understanding / Interest in the Financial Markets Trading Technology Arena
As the company has a very flat management structure they look for innovative individuals whom are able to work autonomously and are comfortable taking responsibility for projects and managing their own day.
The organisation is also looking to open an office in Singapore and would ideally like to populate it with staff already familiar with the systems. As such, candidates open to relocation longer term will be looked upon favourably.
