A senior Java developer is sought by this major gaming house to join a new team, in a new office and develop a industry leading spread betting platform.
This is a truly greenfield project and they are still at the stage where a lot of the technology choices are being made. As such they are looking for an all round Java technologist who can take part in discussions on architecture and design and then work with the team to code it up and develop it. This spread betting program will be stream live pricing information, and will work very similar to the way a front office investment banking trading system works.
This is currently a small team and the team leader has built a number of high performance Java applications for both .coms, his own start-ups and in major investment banks. He is looking for similar minded self starters who will join his team and really make an impact. Everyone in his team will be a contributor to the business and no-one will be considered “too good” to not cut code.
Technically the application is going to be a highly distributed, highly scalable Java program that streams live pricing information from the stock exchanges. They are looking for technologist with solid Java experience building high volume, large distributed applications, perhaps some cloud computing and web development (Rest, SOA, etc). Any exposure to ESB will be helpful.
Agile experience will be very useful as will anyone who has led Agile projects. This team will make full use of the iterative model and mocking and TDD.
