Java Developer – eCommerce
Skills / Qualifications
The consultant must have the following skills and qualities:
Proven leadership of developers, with knowledge of SCRUM and Agile
Strong Core Java (J2SE) development skills
Experience of delivering high performance, low latency, PnL critical systems
5-10 years software development experience with at least 2 years in a front office investment banking environment
Proactive and flexible approach to dealing with challenges
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to face off to the business and support group
- Ability to provide management updates and transparency of the teams activities
- Ability to work with other teams to in delivering the optimal solution for the business
- Ability to deliver quality code without relying on the test team
- Knowledge of programming best practices allied with a pragmatic, delivery focused outlook
- Experience of the entire development lifecycle within Java projects from architecture through to maintenance.
The following experience would be desirable:
- Excellent knowledge and experience in object orientated design and development.
- Experience of delivering high performance, low latency systems
- Excellent knowledge of programming best practices, design patterns etc
- FX business knowledge (products / exchanges)
Core Competencies
- Good level of experience in a delivery focussed development team
- Good knowledge of Scrum and Agile
- Good knowledge of FX and good appreciation of electronic trading
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills as well as reporting capabilities
- Strong communication and presentation skills both verbal and written
- Be creative, innovative, pro-active and convincing in terms of finding solutions.
