Java Developer – Fixed Income Trade Processing recruitment

Department criteria:

The position is for a Developer to work on a global development project within the Fixed Income IT division of Nomura. The successful candidate will join a team based in London working on a global project to develop new global cross-asset trading processing platform as part of a broad strategic reengineering programme.

Role description:

The candidate will be part of a global development team with responsibility for designing, building and deploying a global trade processing system in a series of phased deliverables. This will involve the following:

• System analysis, design and development

• System testing and deployment

• System support and maintenance

• Working with Front and Middle office users to gather requirements and provide support

Key objectives critical to success:

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Good team mentality and communication skills

• Good knowledge of Fixed Income trading business (Derivatives, Bonds, Futures, FX)

• Experience of front office trading system development and support in various asset classes

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required

• Strong Java development

• Distributed Messaging  technology e.g. TIBCO/RV/JMS

• Linux/Unix experience

• Full software lifecycle (requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance)

• SQL / Database development

• Messaging (MQ / JMS / TIBCO)

• XML, Spring

• Trade processing system design, data modelling and workflow

Desirable

• Distributed data caching technologies (Gemfire, Coherence, Gigaspaces)

• Experience High performance processing systems

• SCRUM/Agile development methodology and use of Maven, SVN, Jira
