Client description

 

My client, a ‘Big Four’ Australian Bank is md-way through a 3 year initiative to move away from the reliance of vendor systems in their Markets Business in a bid to increase market participation and become more competitive on a global scale.  As part of this drive, they have invested heavily in technology and have embarked on a number of proprietary system builds.  They are now keen to hire a seasoned Front Office Java Developer who can assist in the design, development and delivery of an in-house built, Algorithmic trading platform for their FX business.

 

Team description

 

Playing a senior role in a team of internationally experienced, front office technologists, you will provide technical insight and guidance to the design and development of highly performant, latency sensitive components. As well as this hands-on responsibility, you will represent the development function at management meetings and act as the key point of liaison with the business and key stakeholders.

 

Role Description

This is a hands-on role requiring an excellent understanding of the JDK. You will work closely with the architects to realize the technical design of a range of components for the system which will include; alpha generation, price discovery, liquidity aggregation, smart order routing and market making. You will then act as a mentor to the more junior members of the team by delegating duties and workloads and ensuring milestones/deadlines are met.
