About the Job
The Java Programmer will function as a mid to high level technician working on complex systems. As a member of the project team, you will be responsible for application design/analysis, developing project plans, coding, testing, documenting all code, and maintaining as well as upgrading existing applications. You will also interface with customers to assist in the project process. A strong interest in researching, making recommendations and implementing new web-related tools/technologies is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Technically lead complex projects including estimating requirements, designing systems and helping develop solutions
- Mentor less experienced team members, formally and informally
- Ensure all changes are properly documented, planned, tested, and approved prior to being moved into production
- The candidate must be adaptive to the use of new software aids and programming techniques as they are required or adapted in IT
- Acquire and maintain additional technical skills for professional development
- Must be able to code, debug and test application programs utilizing JAVA and web based programming tools
- Responsible for working with all levels of the business and the development team to establish, promote, and enforce architectural guidelines as well as assist in the implementation and problem resolution of existing applications and requests.
- Ensure work meets functionality and quality exectations within given timelines
- Bachelor's degree in an IT related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in application development utilizing Java, J2EE, JSP, Spring, Struts, Hibernate, HTML, SQL, JMS, WebServices, AJAX, JavaScript, ANT and WebLogic Application Server
- Experience integrating with Oracle applications
- Experience with Mercury/HP Quality Center and Quick Test Professional is a plus
- Must be able to command the attention and respect of highly technical associates
- Ability to navigate technical issues and evaluate risk
- Demonstrated track record of successful system and project implementations
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail, including the ability to prioritize and manage a variety of complex projects and activities
- Strong problem solving, analysis, design and testing skills
- Quick learner, eager to leverage new technologies in a dynamic team environment
