Java Developer – Leading London Based Hedge Fund recruitment
Our client is a very well established systematic hedge fund in London, with a strong focus on technology for algorithmic trading. They seek a strong, competent and talented Java Developer to join their expanding team working on new and exciting technologies in an algo-trading environment.
This hedge fund specializes in the deployment of quantitative and high frequency trading strategies across the globe. They use advanced statistical and mathematical techniques to identify pricing deficiencies in the financial markets and then use automated computer systems to exploit these opportunities. They boast one of the most advanced trading platforms in the world and are looking to recruit graduate level software engineers across several groups within the business to help with the build out of an exciting new Greenfield project.
The company has a long track record of recruiting from academia and leading technology companies across the globe, so this is an opportunity to work with some of the smartest technologists in the world and work within an environment that is very similar to that of academia, but still apply your skills to a sector that offers a huge amount of career potential.
Job Responsibilities include: -
• Enhancing and supporting the existing trade technology platform
• Designing and implementing high quality code to work with large data sets
• Responding and adapting to new technologies
The ideal candidate requires: -
• Proven ability to develop high quality software, with a passion for technology
• Appreciation of good software architecture and core algorithms and data structures
• Excellent academics- good A-level results combined with a minimum of a 2:1 degree from a top university in a computer related/other numerate subject
• Financial experience is not essential
