Introduction: Montash Associates have been retained by a world leading Investment Bank, to assist in the search for and acquisition of an expert low level Java Developer to fit into an elite development team.
The Organisation: A world leading Investment Bank, engaged in trading activities across multiple asset classes. This organisation is one of the largest and most prestigious within the Global Financial Sector.
The Team: An unparalleled elite team within the IB, central to the PnL. Focussed on designing and building software of the highest quality. The team and technology intends to provide rapid turnaround for innovative financial solutions, within a Java and Scala based rapid development environment.
The Project: A programme of work has been initiated by the most senior business leaders. A brand new, core system must be built that will be used by senior strategists. This will be a next generation pricing, risk management, analysis and trade management platform, and will allow a variety of uses, including but not limited to: low level core analytics, caching, data stores, grid computing etc.
The Role: A position has been created on this embryotic team, for a senior, Core Java Developer, capable of engaging with the strategists and quants. The team is working on a highly complex core system that is critical to the IB’s revenue stream. Individuals must be self-motivated, confident and excellent communicators. Experience of working with Scala would be highly desirable.
The Skills:
Essential:
- Low level Core Java, Multithreading, Low Latency, Scala
- Data structures, low level core analytics, data stores, grid computing
Desirable:
- Exceptional understanding of full software life cycle development process.
- Investment banking / Financial Services background is preferable but not essential.
