Large Chicago Based Banking corporation looking for multiple Java Developers for a variety of projects within their divisions. Must be willing to consider Permanent Offer during contract term.
Job Family Description: Designs, analyzes, develops, codes, tests, debugs and documents programming to satisfy business requirements. Proficient in application development skills for more than one technology as well as proficient in multiple design techniques. This position should typically be used for an advanced or lead level resource.
Additional Skills: Responsibilities:
Create technical design recommendations for developing and integrating programs per written specifications.
Examine applications to ensure adherence to Application Engineering guidelines, processes, and procedures.
Utilize multiple programming languages and software technologies.
Test, modify, and implement application code.
Evaluate service level issues to diagnose and address underlying system problems and inefficiencies
Engage third party suppliers on applications support issues
Qualifications
Technical Skills:
College degree in related technical or business area, specialized training and/or equivalent work experience
Strong teamwork skills
Minimum 5 years of application development work experience.
Minimum 3 years of Internet application development work experience.
Technical Problem Resolution
Solid experience in Java design, coding, testing and debugging techniques.
JAVA, Spring, Struts, DOJO, AJAX, JSP
Strong SQL knowledge / Oracle experience (PL/SQL)
Solid experience in UML and Design Patterns
Knowledge of multi-currency payment applications, a plus

Roles and Responsibilities: As a Java Application Designer/Developer you will participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, enterprise architects, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution. You will write design specifications, participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow, and understand and comply with Project Life Cycle Methodology. You will also adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development, and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications. Additionally, you will document the detailed application specifications, translate technical requirements into programmed application modules, and develop/enhance software application modules. You will participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications; and identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues.
