Java Development Technical Lead (Equities IT) – Director recruitment
UBS Cash Equities Trading is looking for a very strong senior developer with team lead experience. He/ She will lead a team in the Client Connectivity development team.
The Client Connectivity team is responsible for connectivity infrastructure into UBS IB Order Management Systems. We build, maintain and support an industry leading, in-house developed platform with exceptional performance and scaling characteristics.
This is part of a global technology base and as such you will be expected to liaise with developers in other regions and contribute to our global codebase. There is also the opportunity to influence development across the cash equities platform.
- You will be a key member of this team covering all aspects of the system from design, development, release and support. Your job is to work as a core team lead and developer within a small highly focused team based in Singapore
- You will be expected to understand the codebase and performance characteristics in great detail
- You will be expected to develop best of breed technology solutions as well as support and maintain the existing system
- You will be fully responsible for all aspects of maintaining the systems under your control
Requirements:
Our ideal candidate should have the following requisites:
- Bachelor Degree in information technology or equivalent
- Min 10- 15 years experience working in a front office equities team ( or equivalent environment ) with a proven track record in delivering high performance systems specifically with low latency
( sub-millisecond response times ) and high throughput ( tens of millions of messages per day ) systems - A combination of min 8 -15 years of development in Core Java and C/ C++.
- 3 - 4 years of Team lead experience.
You will work directly with java’s core API which J2EE is not required - Experience in order management system and working knowledge of order state handling
- Excellent communication in both written and oral with min 3 years expereince in leadership role
- You are expected to be comfortable with low-level computing and networking concepts
- A thorough understanding of computing algorithms and data-structures is essential
- Detailed Linux (or Solaris) knowledge along with a strong understanding of networking is essential
- The ability to diagnose, measure, understand and resolve performance issues will be a key skill
- Thorough understanding of Memory Management
- FIX protocol practical experience will be of great benefit
- Knowledge of Financial Instruments a plus
