Description:
TRISA OE is in need of a junior level java developer with 2 to 3 years of experience and bachelors in Computer Science or related degree. The developer should have a deep knowledge of Java and related computer languages. The candidate should be patient, persistent, attentive to details, and have a strong analytical ability. They should have good communications skills and be able to work in a team. The developer may conduct software analysis, programming, testing and debugging programs, or documentation. A creative mind with ideas to solutions of system challenges is desired. This person will be working under the direction of the Army on the development of a 3D simulation video game. Knowledge of computer game development and design would be a plus. This position requires a great deal of coordination between the modeler, the animator and other team members. This candidate must be able to work independently and provide feedback to team members.
Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze client requirements; envisioning system features and functionality.
- Designs and develops features and functionality of the game application by setting expectations and priorities throughout development life cycle; determining design methodologies and tool sets; completing programming using languages and software products; designing and conducting tests.
- Recommends system solutions by analyzing advantages and disadvantages of different aspects of development.
- Integrates applications into the baseline by coordination with project manager and outside team members.
- Completes applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
- Supports client use by developing documentation and assistance tools.
- Ability to manage several projects concurrently
Required Skills:
- 2+ years of Java development experience
- Knowledge of the software development process and Object-oriented Programming
- Experience with Eclipse, Ant, and SVN - Excellent communication, organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience with both the Linux and Windows operating systems and their command line languages
- Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science or related degree
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and OpenOffice.
- Must have a SECRET clearance and able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.Preferred Skills:
- Experience with the JavaMonkey game engine would be a plus
