This is a VP-level role
This Tier 1 Investment Bank is looking for an experienced senior java technical and team lead to lead an offshore team and re-architect the bank’s primary End of Day Risk and PnL system for the Rates business.
Working on an established system this is an opportunity for an experienced java technologist with great Oracle skills and an establish career in investment banking to make a vertical move within the industry and establish themselves within the Rates business area. The brief is to orchestrate Fundamental re-architecture of this area’s End of Day Risk and PnL system. This is a hands on coding role.
They are looking for someone who is already a VP within an investment bank and can get a handle on the system and rationalise the architecture. The role will involve regular meetings with head traders, product control and middle office, and lots of interaction with the business.
This is a globally distributed team and most of the volume of development work will be carried out by an offshore team and it is therefore essential that the candidate have solid experience of leading teams and leading offshore teams.
Methodology-wise this area use continuous integration extensively and are TDD practitioners. They are moving towards Agile but are not totally Agile and an evangelist would not really fit in with the team.
