Java Team Leader recruitment
You will be the dedicated resource working with the development environment team of 20 developers and practitioners. You will be able to adapt and absorb new environments and technologies rapidly to meet the project’s requirements. The ability to work independently is very important, as is the ability to manage a high work load during key moments of the product life cycle.
Scope of Role
- Responsible for requirements analysis, design implementation, testing and engineering documentation for new innovative products and features targeted at many different markets within the Financial Services industry.
- Responsible for ensuring that development uses industry standard technologies, efficient and productive tools and techniques to develop feature rich, enterprise strength software products.
- This role will involve contributing to and managing a team in a collaborative, model driven, iterative development environment using leading edge development techniques and processes.
- Managing workload of the team members to ensure efficient utilisation of resources
- Assessment and planning of tasks up to and including software releases
- Investigation and support of production software
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- A Bachelors, Masters, PhD or HND in subjects such as computer science, software engineering, IT or related subjects
- Strong software analysis, development and design skills
- Proven experience of the full software product life-cycle
- Experience in working with multi-threading and concurrent packages. Need to know how to use multi-thread approach to improve user's experience
- RMI : experience of Java RMI in particular experience of integration of RMI and SSL
- Strong OOD skills using UML, preferably in conjunction with a recognised development methodology
- Programming - JAVA, J2EE, Eclipse, XML and XSLT
- Proven commercial project experience, preferable in a relevant business vertical domain
- Team leading and planning experience
- Proven ability to work successfully in a team environment
- Fluency in business English (written and spoken)
Desirable:
- Excellent knowledge of UNIX and Windows operating systems.
- RDBMS – Oracle and SQL Server
- Testing experience: JUnit, TestNG, or swing based tools such as FEST, selenium.
