Job Description:
Established online media company looking for a java user interface and reporting software engineer to create new, web-based, applications in an open and agile development environment. The qualified candidate will be responsible for front end user interface tasks, with an emphasis on creating reports.
The ideal candidate is an experienced, self-motivated and flexible software engineer, who has a thorough understanding of the full software development life cycle with strong hands-on development experience, is passionate about user experience and can create commercial quality web products.

What you need for this position:
* 3+ years experience in web application development (both front and back-end)
* 3+ years java experience (JSP, Spring MVC)
* 3+ years experience working with a web server technology (Apache, Tomcat)
* 3+ years experience with Javascript, AJAX, DOM, HTML, CSS
* 3+ years experience with database design and development
* Experience with reporting frameworks (JasperReports desired)
* Expertise in MVC patterns
* Knowledge of the jQuery framework and related plug-ins
* Experience with the EclispeIDE
* Solid understanding of version control strategies
* Bachelor degree in a relevant field
* Strong interpersonal and communications skills
What you'll be doing:
* Demonstrate excellent knowledge of web-based UI design and development to create rich interactive user interfaces
* Utilize strong SQL skills and use of UI elements to create complex reports and dashboards
* Participate in and contribute to the planning process for new projects and give input on specific technologies utilized to complete projects – then execute to plan
* Collaborate in a team-oriented, open business office environment using mix of best of breed open source and industry standard development tools
* Follow through with projects from concept/design, to launch and testing, to integration of successful prototypes into core business platform
