We are currently seeking a Java/J2EE Developer to work onsite with the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. The contractor shall: Perform dynamic web/database application development, using Java/J2EE technologies with JSP, EJB, Spring, XML, Maven (or Ant) and shell scripting. Work with staff on database technology, including Oracle, Postgres, DB2, Sybase, MS SQL, etc. Develop custom ad hoc query tool with SQL statements and store procedures for user definable queries from multiple databases. Convert user requirements into application designs. Provide graphical design and develop prototypes for review. Provide testing and maintenance support on existing and newly developed web applications. Work with staff on web server technologies in Linux/Unix servers, such as Websphere or Tomcat/Jakarta, Hibernate and Struts framework. Perform site navigation and use interface design skills; comply with Section 508 compliance requirements. Develop reporting and import/export tools with MS Excel, Words and XML. REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have: Bachelor?s degree in related field. Minimum of ten (10) years experience in developing dynamic web applications using Java/J2EE technology with JSP, EJB, Spring, XML, Maven (Ant), shell scripting and Oracle Database. Experience working in web server technologies in Linux/Unix servers such as Websphere or Tomcat/Jakarta, Hibernate and Struts framework. Experience working with database technology such as Oracle (preferred), Postgres, DB2, Sybase, MS SQL, etc. Strong site navigation and user interface design skills, as well as understanding of Section 508 compliance requirements. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
