Position Summary

The primary objective of our Java / J2EE Software Engineer is to lead the development and maintenance efforts of CCC’s applications.  This individual leverages their experience in analysis, design, coding, testing, and maintenance of software applications to develop, enhance, and modify CCC applications. The Java / J2EE Software Engineer is expected to conceptualize software solutions at both the unit level, ie. program module, and at the system level, ie. integrated applications. This individual demonstrates a thorough understanding of the latest development environments including development standards, philosophies, tools and applications.

 

Duties / Responsibilities 

·         Codes complex J2EE software applications.

·         Creates and executes unit test plans.

·         Researches and corrects complex defects.

·         Participates in and lead functional and technical specification reviews.

·         Participates in creating and executing integration level test plans.

·         Develops detailed technical analysis and design specifications based on functional requirements.

·         Researches technical solutions to business problems.

 

Required Skills / Experience

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering Business Administration, or a related field.

·         1 - 3 plus years of software development experience.

·         1 plus years in Java.

·         Experience building web applications and web services in Open Source Framework.

·         Prior experience within a Software Development Company with exposure to multiple cycles and releases.

·         Strong understanding of Java best practices, system scalability, and performance tuning.

·         Experience with enterprise messaging systems (queues, messages, etc.).

 

Preferred Additional Skills

·         Oracle Application Server 10g/11g

·         Java 1.6, J2EE, EJB, XML, JAXB, SQL, JDBC, JSP, AJAX, JSF, Struts

·         Unix/Linux

·         BPEL

·         Rules Engines such as ILOG, Oracle Business Rules, DROOLS

·         Eclipse, Jdeveloper

·         SVN, ClearCase

·         Maven, ANT

·         Hudson (Jenkins) or other Continuous Integration technologies

·         Experience working in Agile environments

·         Content Management System

·         Social Networking Technologies

·         Enterprise Portal

·         Consumer based product development

·         Test Driven Development

·         JUnit

·         Spring/Hibernate

·         Flex/Adobe Air experience.

·         Experience in social media development and integration.
