Our client has an opening for a senior level Java/Java EE developer for a contract-to-hire position
Scope: Develops and consults on a wide range of projects covering current Java web applications as well as conversion of older applications in different languages to the Java EE platform. Will be required to conduct independent research and make recommendations for new projects. Developer will assists the senior Java architect for the organization shaping the Java development environment through recommendations of frameworks, tools and programming methodologies. Developer provides guidance to others in order to achieve goals in accordance with established policies. The individual will be working with a diverse team of software and system engineers in support of the Commands various initiatives including Boards and Promotions, IBM’s WebSphere Service Registry and Repository (The commands UDDI and services governance repository) and many others.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Having complete knowledge of this field and is able to handle seldom and unusual occurring job events. Ability to complete complex assignments. May determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Proficiency in computer applications, languages, technologies, advanced set-up and configurations, trouble shooting, and system design, and/or capabilities required for the position. Experience with Web application development and Web services required.
Must be capable of obtaining a favorable National Agency Check Investigation.
Network +, A +, or Security + certification is required. Experience with Spring, Hibernate, Maven, JavaScript, MVC and GUI design desired.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline and or 5+ years of related experience. Advanced degree in related technical field desired. Experience in project management or agile methodologies a plus.
