Java/Maven consultant Job in Bristol 06010, Connecticut Us
Our client in Bristol, CT has 2 immediate needs for Java Consultants with extensive Maven experience. These are long term roles.
Responsibilities
* Supporting a Maven build infrastructure, which includes managing a Sonatype Nexus server, and interacting with other business units that share artifacts, troubleshooting Maven build problems and reviewing poms of new projects.
* End to end ownership of build, configuration, and deployment in multiple staging environments.
* Driving production-level 24/7 support for internal build and deployment infrastructure.
* Supporting a shared version control system (Perforce) for ESPN.com Digital Media.
* Driving innovation in build infrastructure, which includes adding functionality in Nexus and our continuous integration server (TeamCity), piloting Selenium usage, and creating Java tools for a proprietary templating language including IDE, Sonar and Nexus plugins, designing and implementing workflow of build promotion process.
Qualifications
* Thorough understanding of software QA engineering processes and practices.
* 5+ years of software development and/or testing experience on web- and database-based applications
* 2+ years of build engineering with Maven including writing Maven plugins.
* Experience automating project builds and environment deployment and configuration
* Experience maintaining large environments
* Experience coordinating goals and managing expectations of several teams.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Detail-oriented, thorough, and ability to work independently
Skill set
* Maven including fundamentals: lifecycles, phases, pom structure and development (inheritence, dependencies, plugins) and Maven plugin development (Java programming)
* Virtualization experience, preferably VMWare
* Version Control System experience, preferably Perforce, Git and/or Mercurial
* Continuous Build System experience, preferably TeamCity
* Basic understanding of SQL
