You will provide technical consulting services to clients; contribute to the design and delivery of technical architecture solution components; support the efforts of more experienced consultants; play a quality assurance role by reviewing team work products for accuracy, consistency and ensuring they meet client requirements; and serve as a technical resource on a team or a team leader for other technologists. Responsibilities: Develop Java-based applications Produce high quality code, on time and on target Engineer software through its complete life-cycle Research and understand product requirements to ensure successful beta test, product launch, etc. Participate in testing and system integration testing Technical Skills: 3-5 years software design and development in Java and WebSphere Additional experience with J2EE, WebLogic and/or JBoss highly desired Strong object-oriented analysis programming skills a plus Experience building high-performance Java systems, performance tuning, and stress and load testing Consulting Skills: Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, energy and passion for software development Ability to work well with a variety of resources across multiple disciplines including CSC team, vendor team and client Able to produce high quality code, on time and within effort estimates Must possess excellent client-facing skills Must have a proven track record working in a collaborative software development environment. Desire to work in a dynamic team environment Must be open to national travel Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or related field preferred Three or more years of experience in technical analysis and design, preferably within a consulting environment Experience working with CSC Catalyst and/or equivalent client-mandated methodology Experience working with software, hardware, data and testing standards Experience working with delivery assurance principles and procedures Other Qualifications One to two years of additional relevant experience in a particular technical specialty area Strong analysis and design skills Good communication skills Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment Ability to devise creative technical solutions Ability to convey a strong presence, professional image, and deal confidently with complex technical problems Willingness to travel The Company: CSC is one of the world's leading providers of information technology services, helping organizations achieve business results through the effective use of technology. Expectation for Travel: For the Global Business Solutions division of CSC, all roles require a commitment to 100% travel. This doesn't mean that a person will always be traveling for assignments, but new Consultants joining the CSC team need to understand that they could be assigned to a travel role. The staffing process focuses on assigning people to local roles as a first priority, however, if a Consultant is available and has the right skills for an assignment for another CSC office across the United States, the Consultant may be staffed into that travel assignment.
