JD Edwards Application Manager – Financial Solutions Job in Toronto, Ontario Canada

Type: 1 Year Salaried Term + Benefits + Completion Bonus

 

Our respected client in Toronto is pursuing a dynamic individual for an exciting opportunity as a JD Edwards Application Manager.

 

This position carries full salary privileges, including benefits and a significant bonus upon successful completion. There is a possibility for extension since the company is growing, but cannot promise.

 

The JD Edwards Application Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, upgrading and maintaining application solutions across the enterprise.  The Application Manager leads and mentors a team of Business Systems Analysts and JD Edwards Programmer Developers working with multiple technologies including Hyperion, Image Now (an ECM), UPK, SharePoint etc. 

 

The candidate must build and maintain solid relationships internally and externally with key stakeholders.  For complex and high business value projects, the individual will work closely with the Project Management Office to ensure projects are completed on time and delivered within budget.

 

  

Responsibilities

 

Management Leadership

- Lead a team of IT professionals and provide them with the necessary guidance from time-to-time, and also influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work

- Manage the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple software development projects

- Participate in long term applications strategy setting and roadmap

- Develop, grow and maintain business relationships vital to the success of assigned projects

- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the organization's working

- Foster a collaborative environment of ongoing learning and mentoring

- Inspire the team to succeed

 

Solutions Development

- Design, develop and test windows and web-applications that enhance productivity and provide a rich end user experience

- Work with Business Systems Analysts and Programmer Developers to develop functional specifications that meet the Business Unit needs

- Participate in the review of: Systems Prospectus (Systems Requirements Analysis), Systems Delivery Specs, User Procedure Documents, Training Documents

- Work with Project Managers to minimize our exposure and risk across multiple projects within Information Services

- Assist in the coordination of Projects across multiple IT Teams

 

Performance Management Training

- Conduct Technology orientation sessions for the team and provided new employees with the know-how of systems and technology

- Conduct performance reviews and ensure professional development plans are achieved for the team

 

Policies, Procedures Administration

- Assist in the development and maintenance of standard procedures, manuals and technology policies

- Perform periodic audits to ensure IT policies and procedures are adhered to

- Provide technology policy guidance to the staff, supervisors, managers and customers

- Manage all change control procedures as defined by established policies

- Perform other related duties as required

- Knowledge of Project Life Cycle deliverables: Project Charter, Project Planning Initiation, Business Requirements Document Model, User Acceptance Testing, Rollout Procedures

- Intermediate skills Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project

- Knowledge of VB6 and .Net development

- Knowledge of Citrix

- Knowledge of SharePoint

- Knowledge of Team Foundation Server

- Knowledge of ERP systems
