Job Title- Product Controller- Equities recruitment
Global Investment bank seeks an Equities Product Controller- Prime Services and Delta One on a permanent basis. Based in flagship offices in the City you will be responsible for understanding, substantiating and controlling the daily trading balance sheet and Profit Loss
The main functional responsibilities include: production of a comprehensive daily trading PL and balance sheet, ensuring that the appropriate accounting principles are applied, partnering with the Front Office and other support groups in facilitating new products and initiatives and developing and reporting management accounting information to the business. The role entails analysing and reconciling the desk PL on a daily basis whereas monthly tasks will involve independent verification of pricing levels and the calculation and analysis of Reserves as part of the full Balance Sheet ownership
The primary objectives of the role are to ensure the team:
· Maintain and develop best practice controls around both PL and balance sheet
· Understanding of accounting principles for financial products (experience of US GAAP preferred)
· Maintain strong networks and communication across all functions that support and control the Fund Derivatives business, including Market Risk and Operations
· Assist with issue resolution on a variety of subjects ranging from accounting to trade capture and valuation
· Provide information and support to business management and traders
You will be a qualified accountant ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent with prior product control background ideally within an equities background. Strong knowledge of investment banking business products and processes - front to back flow.
