Journeyman
Machinist
Silgan White Cap, a leading supplier of metal closures to the food
and beverage industries, seeks an individual to be responsible for
repairing and maintaining production tooling and dies in our fast-paced
manufacturing environment. You ll operate a variety of equipment to
maintain dies, and work to modify existing tooling. To qualify, you must be a
Journeyman Machinist with at least 10 years of experience. Tool and die
experience is a plus. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to operate machine
shop equipment are a must. Preference will be given to candidates who have
experience in metal container manufacturing activities.
Must be capable of operation in tolerances of +-.0001 in various materials;
running precision I.D. O.D. grinders; and performing set-up and operation
of milling machines, surface grinders, engine lathes, and boring machines.
Strong troubleshooting skills; knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and air
compressor systems; and working knowledge of progressive dies and geometric/
isometric dimensions and tolerances are a plus. Top rate will be $23.30/hour.
