Jr. Failure Analysis Engineer (New College Graduates) Job in San Jose 95113, California US
THE COMPANY:
Our client is a fast-growing pioneer in providing precision electrical interface Integrated Circuits for Fiber-Optic transceivers transponders for multi-purpose telecom systems. They're currently seeking a Failure Analysis Engineer that will be able take an Integrated Circuit (RF/Microwave, GaAs, InGaAs, CMOS from any manufacturer or assembly or RMA) that is not working find out the root cause of failure. The ideal Failure Analysis candidate will be responsible for leading their own failure analysis efforts - in root cause device level/packaged product failures, RMA, writing FA reports, leading edge fault isolation techniques. This position also requires that candidates have good communication skills, proficient @ technical report writing, those who have a favorable customer service demeanor.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Candidates will be responsible for conducting the reliability tests per the stressing configurations developed with Design Product/Test Engineering.
- Candidates will also manage the RMA activity as well as drive the successful identification of the issues, co-ordinate the development implementation of the corrective actions, finally follow up with our client's customers.
- Candidates will also ensure that our client's products conform to the contract manufacturer's design rules recommended practices (Design For Manufacture).
- Candidates will also be responsible for creating as well as maintaining quality documentation, qualifications, reliability reports.
- Candidates must also be "hands-on" during the debugging, failure analysis, electrical device characterization, optical testing processes.
- Candidates must also assist in the evaluation as well as the selection of new contract manufacturers new products.
- Candidates must ensure that our client's manufacturing practices as well as their procedures are documented comply with ISO-9001 standards.
- Candidates will be responsible for establishing the standards for incoming acceptance of raw material as well as WIP to ensure conformance to those standards.
- Candidates will also drive the vendor outgoing quality performance to meet or exceed our client's incoming requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidates must have a BSEE degree. Candidates with a MSEE or PhD degree are preferred.
- Candidates need to have @ least 3 years or more of experience directly related with semiconductor failure analysis.
- Candidates must also have "hands-on" experience with test equipment, curve tracers, microprobe, "fault-finding" techniques, IC "de-processing", optical/electron microscopes is necessary.
- Candidates must have "hands-on" experience with light emission microscopy, Non Destructive Analysis, SEM, IC test, other related Failure Analysis (FA) tools.
- Candidates with Integrated Circuit (IC) fabrication, Integrated Circuit (IC) test, a device physics background are beneficial.
