The Bergen op Zoom site accounting team is responsible for the (monthly) financial closing process, ensuring accurate and timely recording of year-to-date operating expenses for multiple business units of the Bergen op Zoom manufacturing plant.

The Challenge
In this role you establish a close relationship with organizational units and embedded business control. You need to understand the operation and it’s characteristics (financial aspects) and translate the characteristics of the organizational unit into financial transactional processes. You need to ensure a proper set of internal controls to safeguard assets and liabilities (controllership). Next to that you need to explain the actual costs towards embedded business control and operational management and will do ad hoc analytic to support financial statements.

Next to the above described tasks you will:

- Execute monthly, quarterly and year-end closing of the Site accounts carried out as per established accounting practices and procedures.
- Execute methodology of FIFO computation is in line with global requirement.
- Execute adequate provision of obso is accounted and provided in accordance with the global obsolescence policy.
- Ensure population of management reports as per request and in accordance with predefined reporting schedule and provide variance analysis on reporting.
- Continuous Improvement.
- Continuously find opportunities to make the function’s processes more efficient and effective over the period, and share these with other Supervisors Site Accounting.

Your Profile
- University/HBO Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent.
- Interest in a global manufacturing environment.
- Fluent in Dutch and English both verbal and written
- Finance experience (preferably in manufacturing).

Relevant competencies:
- Good accounting knowledge.
- Good analytical skills - ability to understand complexity of cost structures and translate data into clear analytics.
- Strong process improvement mindset: always looking for ideas to drive down operating cost and enhance transactional efficiency and integrity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible - no nine to five mentality.
