We are currently recruiting 2 Junior Application Developers for our Glasgow office. We are looking for passionate and driven individuals who are keen to pursue a career in the IT outsourcing industry.
Key accountabilities
Delivering specialist migration projects for customers around the world you will work closely with the Solutions Architect to build and test application development services.This role requires flexibility to engage with multiple customer and internal business units, consequently this role requires mobility to travel to customer sites and other T-Systems locations,
Duties and Responsibilities
- To develop, test, deploy, support, maintain and deliver web services in line with the product set, meeting both industry and T-Systems standards and to satisfy the requirements of the Customer
- To be a member of a project or service team
- To keep up-to-date with the latest development technologies ensuring efficient and relevant solution development and support
- Understand and use all department quality and relevant general procedures issued by the company.
- Develop solutions and deliver services within estimated time and budget
- If required, support implemented systems, services and associated data that are covered by a contracted Customer support agreement - within the terms of the agreed Service Level Agreement
- Maintain any systems, services and associated data that are covered by an authorised maintenance agreement
- Service / Work-package Design Delivery
- Work under close supervision of an Application Developer, Senior or Principal Consultant as part of a project team delivering application work packages through all stages of the project lifecycle
General:
- Availability for out of hours support and delivery if required
- International travel may also be required, however reasonable notice will be given where possible (25% travel required)
- To maintain a good overall knowledge and understanding of current methodologies, technologies and services as contracted by Customers and as promoted by the Company whilst maintaining an awareness of future trends within the market place.
- Adherence to relevant ITILService Management processes.
- To uphold the T-Systems guiding principles and champion them within the team
Desirable technical skills:
- HTML, XHTML, XML
- Web Service Unit Testing
- Good working knowledge of MS Office Software
- Programming (essential) - Python/Jython
- Content Management Systems
- .Net
- C#, CSS, SQL
- Networking i.e. accessing customer VPN's
- Ruby/JRuby
