Junior Catastrophe Modelling Risk Analyst
Role Details:
- Perform catastrophe portfolio modelling and reporting ensuring:
- All relevant exposure data is analysed
- Preparation and enrichment of data from risk bordereaux
- Adherence to relevant risk analysis standards and good practice
- All European and/or Global internal reporting requirements are met
- Compliance with all material legal and regulatory requirements
- Minimise the risk of business discontinuity
- Work with the business to incorporate analysis into underwriting and pricing models
- Perform the modelling and analysis of risk aggregation to enable us to manage accumulations appropriately
- Assist underwriters to obtain best coverage for outwards reinsurance protections
- Support relationships with stakeholders including underwriters, business partners, reinsurers, industry bodies, brokers and customers to maximise influence and to identify opportunities to improve customer focus
Skills Required:
- A-level educated or equivalent
- Experience of working within the catastrophe modelling/exposure management function
- Good level of understanding of relevant modelling software and experience using RMSRiskLink
- Knowledge of Property Binding Authorities
- Understanding of industry best practice in catastrophe risk modelling
- Knowledge of underwriting and reinsurance
- Ability to use and interpret numerical/exposure data, extrapolating where required from limited or complex data
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to develop solutions to address business needs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently whilst being a team player
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Access
- Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
- Degree educated
- Progressing / Completed ACII or other relevant professional qualification
- Understanding of MS SQL Server 2008 Management Studio
- VBA experience
