BlackRock Solutions (BRS) offers risk management, financial markets advisory, multi-asset  solutions, technology infrastructure, and other support services to BlackRock as well as to external clients worldwide. Housed within BRS, the Client Solutions (CS) group provides strategic advice and multi-asset investment solutions to a broad set of institutional investors, including public and private pensions, endowments and foundations, as well as financial and official institutions. Combining consultative client service with portfolio design and implementation, CS seeks to solve a wide range of challenges by taking a holistic and product-agnostic view of clients' portfolios.  Rooted in BlackRock's culture of objective problem-solving, the CS group is among the highest strategic priorities at the Firm.

 

Role Overview

BlackRock's Client Solutions team seeks a Junior Client Strategist to work with institutional investors in an advisory capacity, develop custom solutions to meet investors' goals and deliver investment insights and thought leadership.

Responsibilities:

·      Advise institutional investors on asset allocation strategies and portfolio construction

·      Support analyses on topics such as risk management, active risk budgeting, portfolio optimization, liability driven investing, and implementation considerations

·      Conduct in-depth analysis of investors' portfolios, including bottom-up and top-down

·      Help develop custom solutions to meet investors' unique objectives and constraints

·      Support business development effort and prepare materials for client account reviews; present directly to clients when appropriate

·      Compile presentations for one-on-one client meetings and larger-scale conferences

·      Support ad hoc research and contribute to articles and white papers

 
Qualifications:

·      BA/BS; CFA and/or CAIA (or progress toward) encouraged; MA in finance or related field is a plus.

·      3-5 years of asset management experience

·      Strong analytical/quantitative proficiency

·      Interest in and experience working with institutional investors including public and private pension plans, foundations, endowments, and official institutions; familiarity with each of these investors' regulatory environments, constraints, typical asset allocation and investment strategies
