Junior Commercial Real Estate/Mortgage Backed Securities Credit Analyst – Credit and Payments Risk recruitment
The Credit and Payments Risk Group (CPR) leads and coordinates the Bank's assessment of its financial risks, and its payments policy and oversight agenda. Within CPR, the Structured Products function is responsible for analyzing the credit and market risks arising from the Bank's discount window lending, special lending arrangements and other activities. Additionally, the team monitors and advises on market and structured credit securities risks, including commercial real estate and commercial mortgage backed securities in support of facilitating real-time and independent analysis of credit risk and identifying threats to financial stability.
The Structured Products function is currently seeking a Junior Commercial Real Estate/Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities Credit Analyst to work with the CRE/CMBS Risk Officer in sourcing and analyzing transaction loan level and collateral data in support of real-time and independent credit risk management, updating risk monitoring platform and real estate consulting engagements.
Responsibilities:
- Exhibit working knowledge of CRE/CMBS structured products in support of Structured Products collateral risk management;
- Work with large data sets and extract and prepare verbal and written presentations about economic, demographic and collateral performance trends within the data
- Develop loan level and collateral sector analytical reports in a timely manner, to include data models capturing credit risk indicators
- Maintain appropriate documentation and records as well as coordinate follow-up actions
- Collaborate with Bank areas managing balance sheet risk for timely delivery of risk reports
- Coordinate risk reporting components of the Groups customized risk data platform called RiskOptix, to include the quarterly CMBS collateral risk management reports and Risk Oversight Committee reports
Skills
Job Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in business, finance or economics, MBA is a plus
- Two to three years of experience in commercial real estate analysis and/or risk management in a banking and/or securities industry context
- Working knowledge of commercial mortgage backed securities and structured products data resources, experience with Trepp/Index a plus
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to details
- Exhibit high standards for quality and productivity and ability to work independently balancing multiple priorities
- Strong inter-personal skills, including ability to collaborate and build partnerships with risk staff and colleagues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with advanced functionality of Microsoft Office, particularly MS Access and MS Excel
- Visual Basic Applications (VBA) programming knowledge a plus, but not requiredThis position requires access to confidential supervisory information, which is limited to 'Protected Individuals' as defined in the U.S. federal immigration law.
