Our client is a $10 billion strong Prop Trading fund with performance figures of 23%. They trade a number of products across equity and commodities in both high and low frequency strategies. They have the reputation as one of the best funds globally. They use a combination of proprietary data, superior technology, and aggressive execution to achieve their trading objectives.

The Support Engineer will provide effective first and second level desktop support for all areas of the business and also provide cover for other satellite offices when needed, delivering a focused client service experience through ad-hoc troubleshooting and problem solving for end user queries .

This role sits next to traders so you will deal with problems quickly and effectively as well as prioritising what goes first.

Currently the team includes and 2 infrastructure and 5 other support Engineers responsible for a user group of 100 people.

Main responsibilities include supporting Microsoft products such as Windows XP, 7 and Office 2010, phone-systems and the day to day tasks of running a busy office environment.

Key Accountabilities

• Set up and maintain desktop systems
• Support the office IT infrastructure
• End-User support for general IT issues
• Install and deliver workstations to end user as well as configuring phones and mobile devices
• Instruct and help users with office applications
• Assist the IT Infrastructure team in maintaining the production server environment

Candidates MUST have:

• Degree in computer science or associated technology degree
• MAX 2 years commercial experience (others will not be considered)
• Good knowledge of MS Office Applications
• Hardware Skills
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Displays a service oriented mentality, strong diagnostic and advanced problem-solving skills, team player, able to interact with people, strong communication and relationship building skills

• Fluent in English, German is a plus
• You MUST be AN EU Passport holder due to restrictions.
