Junior Embedded Electrical Designer Job in Markham, Ontario Canada
Description:
Our client, a leading provider of custom and standard AC/DC and DC/DC power supply solutions is looking for a Junior Embedded Engineer to join their team of technical professionals. This is a full-time permanent position located in Markham, Ontario. Your primary responsibility will be to develop, integrate and test embedded software solutions into power supply products. Key responsibilities include:
1. Support senior level engineers in the design of embedded solutions (hardware and firmware) from project launch to manufacturing.
2. Develop embedded power management/control/communication solutions (for power supply products) based on customer specifications and engineering team requirements.
3. Perform schematic entry, calculations, simulations and bread boarding as required.
4. Ensure the technical integrity embedded designs.
5. Ensure designs meet cost, performance and schedule requirements.
6. Perform evaluation and verification testing ensuring design integrity and provided documented test results.
7. Interact directly with customers to communicate technical information.
8. Interact directly with vendors to obtain technical information.
9. Work cross functionally with other engineering groups throughout the design process.
10. Ensure designs conform to and are documented to corporate engineering and ISO9001 procedures.

Qualifications:
1. Electronics Engineering Degree.
2. 5+ years experience in design/development of analog and digital circuits, including analog/mixed signal and signal path circuitry.
3. 1+ years experience in design/development of embedded platforms.
4. Experience with 8 or 16-bit microcontrollers, SOCs or DSP based designs including knowledge of general purpose microcontroller and DSP architecture, configuration, functionality, programming, emulation and debugging tools.
5. Experience with C based programming.
6. Experience developing/implementing serial communications (i.e. I2C, UART, SMBus, SPI) on embedded systems.
7. Knowledge of embedded design as it applies to power supply functionality (i.e. power management and/or power control) is a significant asset.
8. Experience in the product development cycle including product qualification requirements.
9. Experience developing closed loop control embedded systems is an asset.
10. Experience with electronic packaging including high density, SMT and PCB layout techniques is an asset.
11. Experience with volume manufacturing requirements (i.e. DFM/testability) is an asset.
