 Duties and Responsibilities:
1. General Environment/Major or Unusual Problems:
Critical skills and knowledge base includes interpreting and creating parts drawings in both 2D and 3D in various formats, be able to assist in creating prototype parts and working with plant personnel in making prototype parts, and work with outside vendors and customers on part details and production ussies. Must have the ability to adapt and think creatively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Building and maintaining excellent working relationships with all levels of plant personnel, outside vendors and suppliers, and our customers is crucial.

2. Responsibilites and Decision Making Authority:
Responsible for working with marketing personnel and outside vendors and suppliers on prototype fabricationb and production issues with limited personnel. Work responsibilities will consist of the following:

*Engineer level II duties and responsibilities
*Will be given initial direction from mechanical and product development engineers; must be able to work with minimum direction on projects.
*Work with vendors to obtain quotations, answer part drawing questions, and follow up on prices and deliveries
*Work with customer's engineers to clarify intent of informatuion on part drawings, dimensions and tolerances
*Interface with personnel in our sales, marketing, quoting, scheduling and production departments

Job Qualifications:
*BS in mechanical engineering or equivalent
*Minimum 3 years of mechanical drafting experience
*3-5 years experiences working in a manufacturing environment
*Ability to identify and solve problems quickly - critical thinking and problem solving skills a must
*Works well under pressure and time constraints in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
*Must be able to develop and maintain god working relationships with other plant personnel from a variety of disciplines as well as vendors and contractors

Required knowledge:
*Fully proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings including parts drawings, machining drawings, forming and flat blank layouts, assembly drawings, etc.
*Fully proficient in creating mechanical detail and assembly drawings using AutoCad and/or Solidowrks software in both 2D and 3D
*Fully conversant with ANSI and ISO drafting standards and practices, including geometric tolerances, surface finish symbols, secti9ons views, dimensioning practices, 1st angle and 3rd angle orthographic views etc.
*Fully conversant in working in both Metric and Imperial measurement systems, and able to use and read measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometer, etc in both systems
*Familiarity with basic metallirgy, machine design principles, tool room practices, metal stamping, metal forming principles
*Must have basic metal working and machine shop skills and be comfortable working with hand tools
*Must be a self-starter and be able to handle small projects, and be comfortable working in a high-paced industrial manufacturing environment
*Must have good interpersonal skills and written communication skills and be conversant with ususal office software (MS, WORD, Excel, etc.)

Pluses:

*Have some experience working with machine tools such as milling machine, lagthe, drill press, etc.
