Junior Equities Trader

The Equities Team has $6.0bn assets under management. We have offices and activity in 12 countries across both developed and emerging markets. The Trading Team has a crucial role in supporting a team of regional analysts and portfolio managers by processing trading orders and programs.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Head Trader and Support a team of regional analysts and portfolio managers by processing trading orders and programs.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Overall

• Cover the EMEA trading hours 5am to 1pm

• Undertake day-to-day duties as necessary and provide coverage during periods of high volumes or unexpected absences.

• Process orders and initiate trading programs.

• Assist analysts/PMs with stock selection and technical analysis.

• Field analyst/PM inquiries.

• Give account breakdowns for executed trades.

• Handle broker inquiries.

• Monitor cash positions.

• Update analysts/PMs with country news/stock prices.

• Maintain continuous availability for trading purposes.

• Handle client requests.

• Maintain stock worksheets.

• Track country commissions.

• Initiate position verifications.

Other

• Perform other duties as assigned and incidental to the work described above.

Desired Skills Experience

• 1-2 years’ experience in an investment management firm, or on a trading desk (in support or flow trading)

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, International Business, Business Administration

• Must be able to work independently.

• Ability to work under pressure, to prioritise and multiple tasks

• Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills with high level of attention to detail.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
