Junior Investment Professional
Our client is an established global multi-strategy investor that focuses on relative value and arbitrage strategies across the capital structure. Founded over 15 years ago, they currently manage in excess of $5billion aum and have offices in the US and Europe. One of the key strategies is credit, namely stressed and distressed investments, credit relative value and intra-capital structure trades. They are looking to hire a junior analyst to support the credit team in London.
Qualifications:
- Excellent academic track record – top 10%/highest honours achievement at undergraduate institution
- Excellent professional track record – 1 to 3 years experience in MA, leveraged finance or restructuring advisory from a respected investment bank; ranking in top tier of peer group
- Excellent mathematical and accounting skills and experience building complex financial models
- Hard working, highly motivated and driven, intellectually curious with a keen sense of attention to detail
- Strong desire to move into a hedge fund; demonstrable interest in investing
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Extensive computer skills using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Familiarity with various other research tools and sources is also a plus
Responsibilities include:
- Detailed financial modelling and bottom-up financial analysis, modelling and execution of potential investments
- Primary and secondary market research and rigorous analysis of all aspects of company capital structures
- Research new industries; analyse new prospective companies and geographies; identify industry trends and opportunities/events or catalysts for new investment
- Review and summarise industry research
- Support senior analysts and Portfolio Managers in the structuring of investment recommendations
- Participate in meetings/calls with advisors, brokers, lawyers and other counterparties.
