Position:
Mirae Asset Global Investments (USA) LLC has an open opportunity in its investment management middle office/operations group. The role is extremely wide-ranging and the successful candidate will be trained in areas of a buy-side investment management middle office/operations function. Candidates should have 1-2 years of direct or relevant experience in a middle office/operations environment in finance services. Candidates without experience will be considered. However, a college major in a relevant subject (economics, business, finance, math, computer science) and intermediate excel skills are essential. We are looking for a hardworking, self-motivated and flexible graduate who can quickly leverage the knowledge of an experienced team.
Core functions will include:
- Trade matching and instruction for equity fixed income instruments
- Liaising with counter parties, custodians and administrators
- Producing cash and stock reconciliations
- Investigating and resolving trade breaks
- Monitoring corporate actions and notifying portfolio managers in various global Mirae Asset offices
- Daily monitoring, reporting and resolving failing trades across global markets
- Daily cash management of Korean, US Luxembourg domiciled funds
- Daily upload and transmission of all fixed income, equities, MBS derivatives to NAV calculators and custodians
- Daily assessment of risks, including failing trade penalty fees, overdraft fees and potential NAV errors
- Onboarding of, and creating new operations procedures for, new business and products
