Junior Portfolio Manager, Long/Short Equities Fund, Singapore
My Client is a Leading International Hedge fund with just over $3billion AUM. As the firm has developed, they have branched into a range of products and strategies, but are still heavily focused on their core Long/Short Equities business. They have a fundamental approach, using a macro overly to enhance their regional asset allocation process and are widely regarded as a market leader within the Asia Pacific markets.
They are currently seeking an experienced Equity Analyst with a proven track record of developing Long/Short Strategies to join their Singapore office. The role is open to Portfolio Managers with less than 2 years experience and analysts who have exposure to this type of product with 5-7 years experience (Can be sell side provided they have proven short side trade ideas).
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Senior Portfolio managers on enhancing the Asia Pacific Equities portfolio through fundamental and technical research
- Deepen market coverage by using your country/sector specialism to drive new stock selection
- Assist with regional macro research to provide insight into broad themes for the portfolio
- Perform on the ground research through company visits on a quarterly basis
- Develop your market specialism to work towards running a sole book
- Assist with developing the firms cutting-edge technology platform
Key Requirements
- 5-7 years experience in fundamental equity research, with at least 3 covering the Asia Pacific markets. Candidates with buyside experience will have an added advantage
- Proven experience in developing long/short investment strategies is preferred
- University educated in quantitative/financial field from a Tier-1 University
- Advanced financial modelling skills with knowledge of VBA, Time-Series analysis etc
- High level of proficiency with financial tools such as Bloomberg
- Fluency in Mandarin is preferred as many of the clients will be China based
