Responsibities:
At TE connectivity we are looking for a junior advisor, someone who just finished his Bachelor or master and wants to enter an international technology leader and develop his of her skills.
The primary function of this position within the Global Engineering Systems (GES) team in EMEA will be to provide Pro/ENGINEER design automation services. The secondary function will be to consult, implement, support and educate users and management concerning the utilization of Pro/ENGINEER as the leading CAD system at TE Connectivity.
Today we are using Pro/INTRALINK as a CAD data management solution to manage and maintain Pro/ENGINEER files. We switch to the PDMLink solution (Pro/INTRALINK successor) in the short term.
Requirement:
Position Responsibilities/Duties
- Provide Design Automation projects to eliminate repetitive tasks and improve design efficiency.
- Analyze CAD related product structures
- Identify potential design automation within our product portfolio
- Gather requirements of our engineering workforce and management
- Implement Design Automation solutions
- Train key users of how to use Design Automation tools and how to maintain existing solutions
- Assist in gathering user requirements for new functionality of our CAD tools
- Act as an internal “consultant” concerning the use of Pro/ENGINEER. Promote the use of Pro/ENGINEER and educate users/management on its benefits and limitations. Position the use of 3D and 2D (Pro/E vs. AutoCAD and Spacelaim)
- Provide training and workshops on the use of particular CAD modules and related systems.
- Assist in testing new releases of our major CAD solutions
- Helpdesk support for CAD related incidents
The position will primarily support the TE Connectivity EMEA organizations. Backup support for other team members of Global Engineering Services may be necessary by remote support tools. Traveling to other cities and countries for on-site user support or internal education programs will be necessary but not frequent. Communication with the other global CAD team members is essential. The major target of Global Engineering Systems is to provide consulting on how to use engineering systems within our process and harmonization of engineering systems globally.
Position Qualifications/Competencies
Required:
- Proficiency with Pro/ENGINEER
- Ability to work independently and in a international teams
- Motivated, customer focused, results oriented
- Good verbal and written English communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience with Pro/PROGRAM, SmartAssembly, Excel, and VBA
- Pro/INTRALINK / PDMLink knowledge/experience
- Experience with project planning and estimation
- Experience with AutoCAD (2D) and major 3D CAD OEM systems (i.g. CATIA V5, Siemens NX).
- Good understanding of engineering processes
Education Level:
- Bachelor/Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience and about three years of working experience.
