Junior Programmer Job in Chantilly, Virginia US
This is a full time position located in Chantilly, Virginia. Great opportunity for a recent college graduate who has at least one year of experience (internship experience will qualify) with programming VB.NET, JAVA or C# and working with Windows 2003/2008 or Solaris and SQL Server 2000/2005 /2008 or ORACLE.
Candidates must be able to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance. US Citizenship is required.
Essential Job Functions:
- Codes, tests, debugs, implements, and documents basic programs.
- Assists in the modification of company products and/or customer/internal systems to meet the needs of the client and/or end-user.
- Assists in the research and analysis of existing systems and
program requirements; assists in preparing documentation to change
existing programs. Performs data analysis to support internal and external project needs. - Designs basic programs for projects or enhancements to existing
programs. - Writes specifications for programs of low to moderate complexity.
- Assists in resolving routine production support problems.
- Assists in the completion of unit testing by preparing test data,
running tests and evaluating results. Develops screen tests and debugging problems. - Develops test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs.
- Creates basic documentation in work assignments such as program
code. - Conducts routine quality assurance activities such as peer
reviews. - Remains abreast of industry technical trends and new development
to maintain current skills and remain current with industry standards.
Other Job Functions:
Member of a team that designs and deploys network management
systems.
Participates in all phases of the software development life-cycle
to include requirements and data analysis; software coding and testing;
systems deployment and field support.
Prepares and updates documentation.
5-10% domestic and international travel to client site is
required.
Highly Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of Web Services and Services Oriented Architecture is
desirable.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Information Technology, Computer
Science or related field.
Candidates must be US citizen as a background investigation will
be conducted to obtain and maintain a DoD TOP SECRET Clearance.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics or related I.T. field preferred
- Three or more years of experience in programming or testing
- Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems and software
- Experience working with relational databases to facilitate programming software
