Junior Proprietary trader
My client is a top buyside firm. This is a fantastic opportunity for an outstanding graduate-young professional to train as a trader at a great firm and eventually run your own book.
The role:
- You will conduct fundamental research and technical analysis looking for short-medium trading opportunities.
- Identify low risk - high profit trading opportunities
- Discuss your ideas and research with senior traders
Candidate profile:
Profile 1: straight out of University
- You must be academically exceptional. We are looking for an extremely smart person for this role.
- Ideally, you will have received straight As at A levels and a first in your undergraduate degree. The role is open to undergraduate, masters or Phd level students available now or at the latest by summer 2013.
- You must have a degree in an analytical and numerical subject such as mathematics, physics, statistics, econometrics from a Russell Group University or international equivalent. Economics or finance students are going to have academics likely too light for this role.
- An interest in trading would be a strong advantage eg. you managed your own stocks portfolio, participated in trading competitions, had an internship on the buy or sell side at a top institution. Ideally we need someone who has a good trading intuition.
- You will have excellent communication skills and strong analytical skills.
Profile 2: 1-2 years experience on the sellside at a tier 1-bulge bracket investment bank as a trader or sales trader wanting to move to the buyside.
