As a Junior Relationship Manager (Relationship Management Analyst) you will work in a small team to provide support for relationship management activities in the Defined Benefit pensions team in London. This role will contribute in a meaningful way to the effectiveness of the Relationship Managers when they are meeting clients to enhance communication with clients and responsiveness to queries from clients/prospect. The person in this role is expected to actively seek ways of achieving this goal, in consultation with his/her manager. You will have the opportunity to build relationships with our clients and their advisors as you help us to address their challenges. The successful candidate for this role is expected to take responsibility for a portfolio of clients within a short time period.
Role Accountabilities:
- Acting as a first point of contact when RM's are travelling for clients calling in. Dispatching queries to the right teams and ensuring a smooth follow-up in a timely manner back to the client. Ensuring a close collaboration with the UK Client Services team.
- Hosting client conference calls when the RM is not available and attending external client meetings as required and appropriate.
- Assisting RMs with prospecting and business development activities (calling plans, desktop research, marketing collateral, prospect databases, campaign tracking, investment proposals, pricing proposals, mailshots, responding to opportunities, marketing collateral)
- Supporting the RM upon receipt of an RFP. Allocating the RFP to the right business, ensuring that timelines are respected and preparing a final draft for review for the RM.
- Undertaking market research on the UK defined benefit pensions landscape, including legislative changes, and prospect and client news.
- Preparing reports and MIS to support strategic and tactical decisions on our defined benefit strategy.
- Ensuring our clients' positive experience with the firm by overseeing exceptional servicing, pre-empting any possible problems and proactively enhancing standards.
- Safeguarding the integrity and culture of our firm by adhering to risk and compliance policies that protect our clients' interests.
- Effective planning and organising abilities, precise and structured
- Knowledge of investment solutions for defined benefit pension scheme
- CFA or equivalent graduate-level finance qualification
- Focused on delivery of all aspects of the job
- Strong presentation and communication skills

- Previous experience in a client service / relationship management role desirable.
