The Role
In this challenging position you will be part of the Middle Office / Risk Team, contributing to risk awareness by identifying Flow Traders Risk framework so as to safeguard organisational and business continuity.
Responsibilities
- Check price models, monitor trading control, position limits and excesses;
- Analyze and produce reports on trading positions and return, assessing risks and taking action with relevant parties;
- Directly communicate solutions with traders and the maintenance of solid relationships with external suppliers and counterparties.
- Assist to develop and implement automated risk models in liaison with IT;
- Take initiative to improve risk measures and risk management policies.
- Identify process gaps and continuously improve on procedures;
- Assist traders in requests and queries with regards to settlements, delivery and corporate action;
- Build tools (MySQL, VBA, Excel) to maintain and compare and reconcile risk limits;
- Initiate continuous improvements in data quality (e.g. by automation of quality checks)
Requirements
- Degree in Econometrics, Finance or related;
- At least 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience;
- IT savvy, especially MySQL, VBA and Excel (Formula’s, macro's and queries, Lookup)
- Keen eye to spot and analyze valuation / position differences and the ability to find the cause through logical reasoning;
- Able to work in a stressful high pressure environment;
- Strong numerical abilities and an analytical mind-set;
- In terms of personality, eager, meticulous, keen to learn;
- Strong English communication skills (written and spoken)
