Junior Risk Officer
My client is a leading Mayfair based investment manager. They are looking to add a bright, dynamic junior officer to their risk function.
Position: Risk and Compliance Officer (New Role)
Team/Location: Finance, Compliance Risk (team of 8)
- also liaising closely with IT, Business Analysts and Investment Teams
Responsibilities:
Portfolio Risk
• Assisting with development and setting of portfolio risk parameters
• Ongoing monitoring of risk against defined limits
• Regular escalation of risk issues to Head of Risk, CEO and Risk Committee
• Compilation and distribution of internal weekly and monthly risk reports
Operational Risk
• Assisting with documentation of detailed operational risk map and controls
• Liaising with internal business heads to identify operational risks and implement appropriate mitigating processes and controls
• Liaising with internal audit function
• Internal reporting as required
Compliance
• Assisting with ongoing compliance monitoring programme
• Assisting with ongoing internal and external compliance/regulatory risk reporting
Initial Projects
• Assist in development of risk monitoring and reporting systems and framework
• Liaise with IT/Business Analyst teams on IT development requirements
Skills Required:
• Good organisational and administration skills
• Strong and effective communications skills
• Individual must be proactive and willing to use initiative to improve processes
• Strong IT Skills
• Proficiency on excel essential (and preferably knowledge of databases)
• 1-3 years of experience in financial services, ideally with a working knowledge of key risk metrics in an asset management context
