Junior System Administrator (Linux)
As a Linux Systems Administrator you will integrate into our Back-end Engineering Team (BET) and will be responsible for providing support to Aptoide's server infrastructure, divided between two datacenters. We look for highly technical professionals able to ensure reliability and sustainability of Aptoide platform. Besides normal SysOp tasks and back-end engineering, the System Administrator is also responsible for assuring scalability of our back-end components, tuning of the front-end servers and contributing to the overall architectural design.
Your job involves:
- Support and maintain servers infra-structure
- Development of back-end components in interpreted languages
- Deployment of open source and scalable technologies
- Participation in internal projects with the Web Development Team (WDT) and Android Development Team (ADT) that crosses all areas
- Ensure the overall reliability of services at Aptoide
- Improving security and contributing to safer processes and technologies
Main requirements
- 1-2 years of experience as Linux Systems and Networks administrator
- Previous experience with Webserver and Databases clusters (Postgres / MySQL) in master-slave configuration
- Knowledge of open source software for monitoring and automatisation (Cacti, Nagios, Puppet/Chef, Pingdom, etc.)
- Awareness and experience on scalability issues and knowledge of sharding, clustering, balancing (Perlbal/ nginx/ Varnish, etc.), as well as shared storage and cache (NFS, memcache, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of Networking (HTTP protocol, TCP/IP, network services - DNS, NFS, etc.)
- Fluency in at least one high-level programming language (Shell script/Python/Perl/Bash)
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field (or, in alternative, 2-3 years of relevant work experience)
