Junior Trader
A $2 billion private investment firm based in downtown Fort Worth, is seeking a sharp, detail-oriented recent graduate or individual with 0-5 years of experience to support its trading functions. The work environment is open, team-based, and fast-paced. Our firm executes trades in many areas including convertible and pairs arbitrage, corporate and bank debt, trade claims, etc. The Junior Trader will assist with trading desk functions such as maintaining trading systems, tracking and analysis of trading and securities lending/financing opportunities, and researching company-specific news for portfolios, as well as assisting in trade execution.
Recent graduates in any major are encouraged to apply, but individuals with a business background are preferred. Strong Excel skills are required. This position offers the opportunity for smart people that want to be involved in and learn from the trading desk of a multi-strategy private investment firm.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Exemplary analytical skills
- Proficiency in the use of MS Excel and database applications
- 3.5+ GPA
- Undergraduate degree in finance, statistics, management information systems, or a related discipline
- A track record of achievement through internships, academic accolades, etc.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to be a team player
Candidates who do not immediately qualify for Junior Trader position may qualify for a job in Risk Control department which often leads to a job on the trading desk after several years.
