KBC Senior Advisor Integrated Risk Management recruitment

Job description

In recent years, risk management has become increasingly important, both within and outside KBC Group. The recent global financial crisis has demonstrated convincingly just how important it is to have a good and operational risk management.

Within Group Value Risk Management, the Integrated Risk Management department has three major responsibilities:

-Establish and maintain a single group-wide approach to managing risk and capital, taking into account regulatory requirements and industry best practice, that realigns risk management from risk control towards risk/return optimisation and value creation.

-Help the KBC Board define and safeguard a clear risk and capital “playing field” by integrating the Group’s risk appetite and capital allocation in the strategic planning process, implementing a consistent limit framework and setting risk adjusted performance targets.

-Give teeth to the ‘playing field’ by implementing consisting decision processes and supporting the players, in their role to monitor and manage their portfolios, with coherent internal reporting and clear communication on the risk, capital and return position.

In this regard the team of the integrated risk department is

-working on common frameworks, policies, measures ... to be used across the Group. (e.g. economic and regulatory capital framework, limit framework, risk-adjusted performance measurement framework)

-coordinating the ICAAP process (Basel II banking regulations) and the ORSA process (Solvency II insurance regulations

-taking part in the strategic planning and capital allocation process from a risk appetite and risk-return point of view

-designing and implementing integrated reporting and early warnings systems in order to timely report on potential violation of the boundaries as determined by the risk appetite

-supporting and advising the different business units of the group on risk-return aspects of business decisions both in the planning as well as the execution phase of their business activities.

In this context we are looking for candidates with experience in and passion for risk management to take up a role both in the projects and in running processes in the standing organisation.

Your duties and responsibilities will be as follows:

-As an experienced content specialist, leading and taking part in projects for design and implementation of new concepts and processes in one or more of the areas mentioned above.
