A top tier Investment bank are seeking a talented KDB Developer to sit within an algorithmic development team within their Front Office.
As KDB Developer, you will be responsible for real-time algorithmic development for the front office asset classes and so involves exposure to equity, fixed income and FX environments. Whilst primarily focused on development in the vector based q programming language the role also involves a degree of exposure to both Java and C++, as well as participation in all phases of the software lifecycle, including design, development, testing and implementation.
The data collected by the various kdb+ instances is then used for providing both real-time and historical analytics to front-office stakeholders; due to this the role involves liaising with wide range of business users and other IT teams. Currently the largest proportion of time is spent further developing the FX Analysis Framework which is used to provide analytics for the eFX quants, thus a close working relationship with the quants is required to be able to distil their requirements and rapidly provide new functionality. Indeed, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will spend some of their time sitting with the eFX quants and the role can be thought of as a hybrid IT KX/ eFX analytical role.
The candidate will require strong communication skills and the ability to develop quality solutions for the trading business.
Some out of hours support may be required due to the global nature of the business and therefore flexibility is a key necessity.

* FX knowledge
* Experience of Time Series analysis
* RMDS
* SQL database experience
* Basic knowledge of the financial markets
* Linux Solaris
* Some knowledge of Java and C/C++ preferable
