Key Accounts Credit Controller

A prestigious and established company based in Newbury (RG14) is seeking a Credit Control specialist to join their Accounts Receivable Team on a permanent basis.

You will be reporting directly to the Credit manager who oversees a large Credit Collections Team.

To be considered for this role you will have at least 2 years experience in a similar commercial, Credit Control role, with hands-on responsibility for Sales-Ledger collections, query resolution cash allocation processes.

You will be responsible for 20 key-accounts, with monthly invoices ranging from £100k to +£1m and have full control in managing the day-to-day Credit Control and query resolution on those accounts.

Objectives

To manage the timely credit collections of outstanding payments, ensure swift resolution of queries and accurate record of accounts

Key Responsibilities

· Customer contact via telephone, email letter to chase for overdue trade debts and to encourage prompt payment.
· Correct allocation of customer payments to their accounts.
· Informing Sales Managers of any account queries to enable a speedy resolution.
· Banking of customer cheques and processing of BACS and credit card payments.
· Preparation of individual aged debts to review with the Credit Manager on a weekly basis.
· Informing the Credit Manager of any particular areas for concern including bad debts.
· Implementing and updating the daily “restricted accounts” form and ensuring this accurately reflects accounts that are on or off stop.
· General adhoc administration tasks as required.

Key Competencies

- Previous experience and proven success in a credit control role.
- Numerate and reliably accurate in dealing with detail.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Clear, assertive and confident on the telephone and able to deal with repeat business customers
- Able to prepare professional and appropriate correspondence to customers.
- Competent in the use of Word and Excel.
- Commercial awareness and ability to make sound business judgements.

- A willingness to take responsibility, and follow things through to a satisfactory conclusion.
- Able to maintain sound customer relations and service to customers, both external and internal.
