Job Description: The Knowledge Manager will directly support the Defense Information Systems Agency's Chief Technology Officer. Attention will focus on but not be limited to the CTO's Advanced Concepts and Experimentation Division. This Division and its Branches facilitate the rapid transfer of advanced technology from research and experimentation stages through pilot operations to deployment and full-scale implementation. The Division coordinates and facilitates the rapid insertion of advanced technology into leading edge pilot services for the joint forces and multi-services command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence (C4I) systems and software, Joint Concept Technology Demonstrations (JCTDs), CTO Emergent Technology demonstrations and pilots, Joint Ventures, and Innovation/Risk mitigation Pilot teams. This effort requires Knowledge Management services to facilitate planning for, demonstrating, training and disseminating information about the technologies being developed by the CTO programs. The Knowledge Manager duties: Leading the effort to migrate the CTO and its Divisions into DISA's SharePoint collaborative environment. Serving as the Directorate's resident SharePoint expert, including the conduct of on-going training for current and future staff members. Representing the CTO at SharePoint and Knowledge Management meetings as organized by the DISA-CIO and other activities across the Agency that are involved with the evolution and sustainment of SharePoint services and Knowledge Management practices. Preparing and maintaining necessary SharePoint and Knowledge Management training guides and materials tailored to the CTO's mission and functions. Maintaining a "Go To" Guide used by CTO staff members to quickly identify collaborative and data storage places for major program and initiatives; e.g., SharePoint, Workspaces, DKO, Forge. Working across the CTO to prepare overview statements and other written material for posting to DISA's principal public website and its social media outlets. This effort will require close and frequent coordination with the DISA's Public Affairs and Strategic Communications offices. Providing strategic communications planning guidance to the CTO. Working closely with the Outreach Team to assist in preparing effective internal and external presentation materials; e.g., briefings, news releases, historical summaries. Required Skills: Must have a minimum of 6 years related and general experience. Experience with Knowledge Management and Strategic Communications Experience with Microsoft SharePoint. Excellent written, oral communication, and organizational skills Ability to proactively interact with high level customers and team members Ability to handle multiple tasks in both individual and team environments Experience with Power Point, Word, and Excel. Must have an active Secret security clearance. Desired Skills: SharePoint 2010 experience highly desirable. Public Affairs Working knowledge of Net-centric Enterprise Services (NCES) toolsets Defense Knowledge Online (DKO) or Army Knowledge Online (AKO) Experience with portal implementation and configuration Prior experience writing technical articles In-depth knowledge of the DoD and Services, including current Joint operations Experience preparing and presenting training material. Education Preferred or Equivalent Experience in: B.S./B.A. in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mass Communications, Business, or Public Affairs, with 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent experience.
