ISS is currently seeking a full-time Research Analyst. This position will be based in Singapore, and would cover Korea and other Asian markets.
ISS is the leading provider of corporate governance solutions to the global financial community. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze corporate governance and financial information to write research reports on publicly traded companies in Korea and other Asian countries.
- Issue proxy vote recommendations for shareholder meetings of the companies in the Korean and other Asian markets.
- Develop market expertise in corporate governance, investment, and shareholder issues gathered through research and engagement with company executives, institutional investors, and government/regulatory/listing authorities.
- Research and develop thematic research reports covering Asia companies.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced degree in finance, law, economics, or business, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience in financial services industry, or legal background
- Experience and knowledge of corporate governance and proxy voting issues.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in both Korean and English
- Able to work independently and in a team environment; able to work under tight deadlines.
- Analytical and detail-oriented, have a keen sense of judgment, and be goal-oriented
- Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Passion for corporate governance research
- Proficiency in the use of web-based and Microsoft Office applications.
