Main Responsibilities:
As a senior member of the client servicing team, this position will cover all aspects of the client experience at BlackRock and drive client service activities for institutional clients based in Korea such as sovereign wealth funds, central banks, government organizations, insurance companies, pension funds and corporates. The team needs to leverage existing expertise and resources from US, Europe and Asia-Pacific, and networking this capacity will be necessary for the efficient execution. The person will be a dedicated contact for a designated number of clients, working closely with the business development teams to ensure seamless client service and excellent client relationships are maintained.
Specific responsibilities for this position will include:-
- Report directly to the Head of Korea Institutional within the Global Client Group
- Supervision and coaching of junior client service members
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients
- Proactively identify areas of improvement in client service and initiate projects to improve
- Develop internal relationships with portfolio managers, product specialists and other areas globally to enhance delivery of our products to clients and opportunities
- Gain a deep understanding of clients’ requirements and lead the team to provide tailored support to clients on portfolio/investment, operational and reporting-related matters
- Maintain oversight on client service processes related to IMA negotiation, on-boarding and off-boarding of client accounts, delivery of client communication, performance updates, customised client reports/market commentary, client surveys, client training and visits, client orders and invoices
- Formulate creative solutions to narrow the gap between client demands and servicing capabilities, including negotiations with clients and internal functions
- Maintain a good understanding of the company’s views or strategies on all major asset classes
- Provide business development support – preparation of sales materials, requests for product information etc
Required Skill Set:
- University graduate
- At least 5 years of relevant working experience in high quality, multi-product investment management firms
- BA/BS degree in related field (Economics, Finance or Accounting); CFA is preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize effectively
- Strong oral and written communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with clients and internal colleagues effectively
- Self reliant, resourceful, proactive. motivated and a team player
- Strong attention to detail
- Prior experience in managing junior team members a plus
